This particular episode of Man vs. Wild really got my attention. It was fascinating for me to watch Will Ferell to see him as a person and not as his character in one of his Movies. But then again that’s almost applicable to most of the celebrities I watch. Will Ferell, I guess, was trying to promote his now movie Land of the Lost when they shot this particular episode of Man vs. Wild.
After seeing him on Bear’s show, I must say that he, for the most part, was still pretty much trying to be a character. I guess being on camera for so long, Will probably felt that he has to be in some sort of a character mode in order to function. You can see his typical gags and twitches through most of the show. Seeing him eating a deer’s eye was quite the treat. Specially when Will tried to tackle Bear down after Bear had gone down that birch tree they had to climb. Bear couldn’t figure out if Will was just going crazy or if he was just being himself. I guess Bear being british, he didn’t really get Will’s humor. I never thought Will Ferell was fit enough to actually survive the whole 48 hours.
Overall it was entertaining watching Bear Grylls and Will Ferell trek the cold Arctic Circle. A must watch if you’re a fan of the show or of Will Ferell.
