Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Review

Excerpt from Rottomtomatoes

why do you have to be able to distinguish all of the cast? kilala mo lahat yung primary transformers. the rest are ancillary na lang. you neednt know them. theyre there to up the ante. pero if youre a big tf fan, youll appreciate the chance to guess who’s who. like me, im a big xmen fan. kaya dun sa movie, nag e enjoy ako to identify yung mga extra characters na hindi named.

as for the plot? pareho lang kaya plot sa tf1 saka tf2.

decepticons arrive to revive megatron. they go after a device (cube/matrix). they attack sam to get it. autobots arrive to protect sam. sa dulo, all out war between decepticons against autobots w/ military. in the end, sam and optimus prime saves everyone’s ass. so pareho lang. lahat ng movies me plot hole. tf1 nga has more of a forced humor. imagine, a character like john turturro’s leads a super secret govt agency? not to mention glen whitman as a hacker.

also, i agree that youre entitled to your opinion, so are the rest of us. you crticize the movie, we criticize your criticism. kasi if you put your opinion out there, then it means youre inviting other people to react to your opinion. ganun lang yun.

as for try watching other movies? this is a veiled slight against people who post here. you guys forget na ang pumumunta sa thread na ito loves movies ergo they do watch other movies aside from transformers.

problem is some of you guys are overanalyzing a sci fi movie aimed at entertaining people. it was made to ENTERTAIN not to STIMULATE your brain cells.

I haven’t really watched the movie yet but I’m still watching it, no matter what my friend Don says. =p I’ve been a hardcore fan of almost all incarnations of the Transformers series. Movie, Cartoons, Anime and otherwise.

Search Engine Review: Microsoft’s bing

Earlier, I made a blog about bing, Microsoft‘s new search engine. Now I wanna do a little review on Microsoft’s new baby. Bing had come into being because of the fact that Yahoo and Microsoft didn’t come to an agreement. Microsoft wanted Yahoo and Yahoo declined.

PC Game Review: Ghostbusters the Game

ghostbusters menu screen,ghostbusters menu screen

So yeah, I finally got around to installing the game. First thing I saw was this dinky looking menu screen. I hated it. But what can you do? The game almost got scrapped before. To think I almost never got to play this game. Good thing Atari finally picked it up. I was looking forward to seeing these guys in action again. Specially since they assembled the old cast back together. At first when I was playing the game I thought they left out Winston Zeddemore since there are only supposed to be 4 Ghostbusters. So I was like, they left out the black guy? LOL. Then later on, after playing the game some more, he was ‘supposedly’ in a theatre watching some play or some smack like that.

ghostbusters loading screen,ghostbusters loading screen

The loading time wasn’t that long. It was pretty fast actually. But considering I was actually running it on my WD Velociraptor hard drive, nothing really loads forever. For regular computers, it won’t take forever. The game’s based on directx 9 so it won’t be too heavy on the hardware. It’s not really a native directx 10 game since the only thing there that is directx 10 are the soft particles.

Anime Review: Eden of the East

On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike against uninhabited areas of Japan, claiming no victims. This apparent terrorist act is referred to as “Careless Monday” and disregarded by most people. The series begins three months later, with a young Japanese woman named Saki Morimi visiting Washington D.C. as part of her graduation trip. When she gets into trouble, a mysterious Japanese man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, helps her through it. The man appears to have no memory and is completely naked, carrying only a gun and a cell phone charged with 8.2 billion yen in digital money. The cell phone has the phrase, noblesse oblige (“nobility obligates” or “noble’s obligation” in English), printed on it. While they are coming back to Japan, they learn that a new missile attack has taken place in their country.

Push Movie Review

Plot:

A group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities are hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency. They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

Taken from: IMDB

Summary and SPOILERS: (DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE MOVIE!)
The Division, a shadowy government agency, is genetically transforming citizens into an army of psychic warriors—and brutally disposing of those unwilling to participate. Nick Gant (Chris Evans), a second-generation telekinetic or “mover,” has been in hiding since the Division murdered his father more than a decade earlier. He has found sanctuary in densely populated Hong Kong—the last safe place on earth for fugitive psychics like him—but only if he can keep his gift a secret. Nick is forced out of hiding when Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), a 13-year-old clairvoyant or “watcher,” seeks his help in finding Kira, (Camilla Belle), an escaped “pusher” who may hold the key to ending the Division’s program. Pushers possess the most dangerous of all psychic powers: the ability to influence others’ actions by implanting thoughts in their minds. But Cassie’s presence soon attracts the attention of the Division’s human bloodhounds, forcing Nick and Cassie to flee for their lives. With the help of a team of rogue psychics, the unlikely duo traverses the seedy underbelly of the city, trying to stay one step ahead of the authorities as they search for Kira. But they find themselves square in the crosshairs of Division Agent Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou), a pusher who will stop at nothing to keep them from achieving their goal.

Taken from: Movie Insider

My Opinion: I watched this two nights ago. It was recommended to me by my friend Mon. I think this movie has a very interesting twist on kids with powers. I like the fact that they made it Hongkong, which gave it more street cred. Of course the movie wasn’t perfect and had a lot of flaws. But there were a lot of good points too. If done right this movie could have been fantastic.
