Bing, Microsoft’s Nth Search Engine

MAYBE the third time’s a charm.

Microsoft must certainly be hoping so, after announcing the third reincarnation of its search engine, now dubbed Bing, which goes live June 3.
By pumping $80 million to $100 million into a marketing campaign to boost its new brand, Microsoft is hoping to pull itself out of a distant third place in the search engine rankings.

Research company ComScore reports that Google accounted for 64.2 percent of all US Internet searches in April, while Yahoo had 20.4 percent. Microsoft accounted for only 8.2 percent.

A Possible Future of Gaming

I was just reading a blog on G4TV and I would like share it with you guys. This might just be where gaming is going now. The writer of the letter to Patrick Klepek does have a point.

“In the near future my sons are going to get tired of Mario and be ready for Call of Duty and SOCOM,” he said. “They are very smart and will know the difference between that little box with its poor graphics and the PS3/360. But they will have no idea how to play a video game sitting on the couch and mashing buttons. They are going to want a gun that recoils and moves with them. They are going to want to dodge and duck and strafe with their bodies, because that’s the way [they] are learning to play today.”
