USAToday has revealed the first look at Paramount/Nickelodeon’s upcoming live-action epic adventure Avatar: The Last Airbender which is being directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
Shown are images of actor Noah Ringer as Aang, an Avatar who can manipulate weather and Slumdog Millionaire’s Dev Patel who plays the bad guy Zuko, a “firebender” who can manipulate flames. Look for this movie to be released on Independence Day weekend in 2010, opening on Friday, July 2, 2010.
Shyamalan, the visionary creator of the Oscar-nominated “The Sixth Sense,” “Signs” and the upcoming “The Happening,” will direct and produce the epic action-adventure based on a script that he penned.
