My Trip Salcedo Farmer’s Market and Manila Seedling Bank

I went to Salcedo Farmer’s Market today to pick up some stuff from Gil Carandang. Couldn’t really stay for long as it was raining. Couldn’t take pictures, again, as it was raining. Next time when I have more time and perhaps more money I’ll hang around there and take some pictures of the wares there and perhaps me and Sir Gil together.

CalPhos and BioNim bought from Gil Carandang of Herbana Farms

Aerated Compost Tea

So I went out yesterday since I finally had some time to dick around to do some chores, take care of my plants and whatever else. And I passed by a fish shop I used to frequent the past 15 years. I didn’t hesistate and told him I’ll take it if it still works after we tested it. Sure enough, it worked and now I have a P1500 worth heating coil bought for less than a 3rd of the price. AWESOME! I’m gonna use that with another experiment concerning germination. LOL.

Want FREE Fertilizer / Compost? from Starbucks?!

I faintly remember Starbucks giving away their coffee grounds to people for their gardens. Back then I never really take notice of these things. But as my awareness that fertilizer can actually be costly, this is a very welcome addition for us gardeners. To the guy who thought of this, I thank you. LOL. Making ways to give back to their customers like this just makes me wanna go there (even if coffee isn’t good for my kidneys). Read the rest of this entry »
