I have snails in my garden! Since it’s rainy season, it also is snail season. These guys have been invading my tomatoes and basil plants! They seem to leave my peppers alone though.

Man! That thing is huge. It’s over 4 inches long, 3 inches tall and has one good eye. LOL. What I did with it, I threw it out. I can’t bear to kill anything. Besides, they might be good for something.

On to the Tips:

Best way is, if you guys have chickens or any birds around, they love these things! They love to peck on these things to death. They eat them, and apparently are nutritious. Well, we filipinos eat them too. LOL. But I eat the kind one finds in the market. Not the ones on the ground.

If you have any kind of copper laying around the house, you can use that as  a repellent. Snails and slugs don’t like crawling on copper because they get “electrified” by being in contact with copper. Something about the ions in the copper messing with them or something.

Or you can lay bowls of beer, wine or any yeast and water around your garden as death traps to these things. They crawl into the bowl and drown and die from the beer.

And if you plan on buying any snail bait and if you have pets, keep them away from you pets. The baits will likely kill your pets too if they get in contact with your snail bait.
