I went to Salcedo Farmer’s Market today to pick up some stuff from Gil Carandang. Couldn’t really stay for long as it was raining. Couldn’t take pictures, again, as it was raining. Next time when I have more time and perhaps more money I’ll hang around there and take some pictures of the wares there and perhaps me and Sir Gil together.
CalPhos and BioNim bought from Gil Carandang of Herbana Farms

don’t panic, it’s organic!
I then went straight to Manila Seedling Bank to check out their wares. When I got there it also rained like crap. We had to rush and buy what we needed and leave or else we’d be dirtying my car with wet plants. Not a good sight.
My newly bought variegated calamansi from msbf:

Finally got my hands on some worm castings, bat guano and mychorrizae soil conditioners.

My loot from msbf:
Variegated calamansi, more rosemary, kinchay, cuban oregano, variegated oregano, laurel (bay leaf), tons of dill (love the stuff!) and a couple presents by Ichigo which are Siling Labuyo and Pandan.

A closer look at the herbs:
italian oregano, kinchay, rosemary, laurel….

One of my favorite herbs of all time: DILL!

Pandan from ichigo and variegated oregano

Cuban oregano, as far as i can tell the visual differences of cuban oregano and local oregano is that cuban has darker leaves? ewan.

A peculiar bunch of labuyo peppers that has a cream colored unripe pod, some orange ones and a red one, given to me by ichigo. tabasco pepper maybe?

The Manila Seedling Bank is located just across Bantayog ng mga Bayani along Quezon Avenue corner EDSA. Vehicle entrance is along Agham Road.
I don’t think there are cheap hotels near there. Motels yet. But hotels? nope. Best to ask a taxi driver or something. sorry.
