I was inspired to blog about eating burgers or sandwiches since my mother had brought home a burger and some salad for me tonight. And besides I wanna finally put something on my blog category ‘food’ that wasn’t actually about what I just ate.

My dinner tonight
See the unhealthy fat in that burger seeping from the paper packaging of my brothers burger? Lovely sight isn’t it? All that fat that’s going to clog my arteries. A perfect way to ruin my diet.
On to my tips:
The way I eat a burger or a sandwich at home, specially when it’s from take out or delivery. I usually add a few extra things in my sandwich. When you’re too cheap paying extra for extra cheese and what-not, specially when they cost an arm and a leg these days I just add them at home.
For burgers and sandwiches I add (only when applicable!! I don’t add them all at one time):
1. Cheese – be it regular pasteured up to the kind one buys from Santi’s or your local deli
2. Japanese mayo (not that crappy instant stuff, the real kind, where you ACTUALLY TASTE THE EGG in the mayo)
3. Extra Tomato Ketchup – usually Del Monte or Heinz
4. Mustard, variations of regular yellow mustard, spicy mustard, dijon mustard, honey mustard
5. Extra Chopped Onions
6. Pickles, not the cheap kind ok?
7. Brocolli Sprouts or Alfalfa Sprouts – seasonal but they’re worth every bit
8. Salad dressings such as caesar salad dressing, herb garlic, garlic and blue cheese – Yes, dressings in sandwiches are just lovely. It’s almost like eating a salad with bread around it. LOL.
9. Creamy Horse Radish, my love for british horse radish =D
10. Extra Lettuce – be it iceberg, romaine, or other varieties, better yet, go organic =D
Why do I do these things?
Ever notice Mcdonald’s and a few other places have bland tasting patties? When you learn to have a foody palette, you’ll notice things that most people don’t in terms of taste. Besides it makes the food you used to eat regularly taste different and brings back the life out of eating these things.
Would love to hear from you guys and what you guys think of my tips, and maybe you could add more to my list. Thanks.
