It was pure pandemonium at Evo 2009, as Daigo “The Beast” Umehara defeated U.S Champion Justin Wong two sets to one, proving once against why he’s the best Street Fighter IV player in the world.
Justin started in the losers’ bracket against Daigo, and chose Abel as his first character. The choice of Abel against his usual main character Rufus was in hopes of surprising Daigo with an unfamiliar matchup. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out too well and Justin then switched to his alternate backup character Balrog.
This was a wise choice and Justin was able to win a set against Daigo, but it still wasn’t quite enough to beat Daigo’s amazing Ryu.
