You know how it is. If you’re a hardcore gamer, you buy hardcore stuff for your hardcore hobby. So you’d most likely speed a big chunk of your money on a high end graphics card, processor that eats everything up, large ass lcd screen. And then when it comes to your mouse and keyboard, what then? Of course you’ll wanna buy the best. But of course there entails additional extra cost to all this stuff. You’ll have to buy expensive stuff for your expensive stuff. Well, buying a mousepad isn’t as expensive as shelling out an arm and a leg for a graphics card of course. But I remember the days when I used to just ask for a mousepad from the neighborhood computer shop coz mine was ugly and all used up already.
Now I have 2 gaming mice for one computer, my 24/7 one and my back up mouse. Both G5′s of course. I know they’re old and phased out, but I love them. So much I have two. Of course I wasn’t stupid and just went out and bought an expensive mouse and just let the sensitive and expensive mouse feet just scratched and used up on my computer table. I bought my first branded mouse pad, the Razer Mantis Speed Edition. Cost me around 30 US $ including shipping and handling from the only guy that carried any kind of branded mousepad that I knew of, SeaMax Computer store. Found them through TipidPC.
Anyways…. Razer has a new gaming surface. It’s called the Razer Sphex. It’s PAPER THIN, easy to carry, low maintenance and does all the stuff you need it to do. Ever been to a lan party and you just had to bring along that large ass mousepad of yours that was big and bulky? It was always the problem for most gamers. This is why Razer came up with this, a thin and portable but wide enough surface for your mouse. They call it a Desktop Skin.

The made the underside with a silicon like material so it doesn’t slip off whenever you get into hardcore battles and you just practically fling your mouse around. People should really should really spend more on their gaming surfaces. It’s what makes the mouse come to life. It really is the best investment for gaming peripherals. You will notice a huge leap in performance and in comfort when you buy the perfect mouse pad for you. I’m not really a fan of hard surfaces for my mouse since I’ve been so used to playing on a foamy surface ever since. But this Desktop Skin thing, it’s making me think about wanting to get one for a Lan Party one day. It’s quite ingenius really. It costs $14.99 at the Razer online store. I might just have to get myself one, one day.
