Services include computer maintenance and troubleshooting, upgrades, networking, Audio-Video Setup, sales of Hi Def Movies, TV Series, and Anime, media for consoles such as Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PSP, Nintendo DS, iTouch and iPhone and etcetera, and of course, sales of PC Games and all sorts of other things.
Thank God I’ve been a subscriber for them for the past 10 years. I just called the Globe Hotline and talked to an agent. They agreed to my request in giving me a new phone for my next loyalty availment. In 2 weeks they said they’ll call me for confirmation for my application for the loyalty program, yet again. For the past 6 years I’ve been using the Loyalty Program so I get discounts from my monthly bills. I usually got the 10k as a discount. That basically translates 1k less every month for 10 months. But Globe will keep me locked in for an additional 2 years. My sister gets a similar thing but she gets a 5k discount, 500 a month discount for 10 months, locked in for 2 years.
I’m getting the Iphone 3GS 32GB! Yay for me. It’ll be locked to globe, I don’t mind though, since I don’t have any plans in switching at all. I’ll be locked to globe for another 2 years, again. They said I just have to add P6,XXX for the phone. They also said that I have to add P1,xxx for the 16gb version, I said to myself fuck that, I’m getting the 32gb. LOL. The agent I talked to was Nette Ferreras. She was personable enough, and hopefully I’ll get that phone call in 2 weeks if there are any available Iphone 3GS 32gb’s from Apple. I’m just praying that when I do get my Iphone that Apple doesn’t release their 4G version any time soon. =P

Now we’ve seen our share of fake PS3 news before and this one looks too good to be true. According to a post from Belzar.com, they are now on the verge of releasing the worlds first full-fledged direct boot modchip for the PS3 that is packed full of useful features including multi-region DVD and blu-ray movie playback.
The roadmap to Apple television (as opposed to Apple TV), as Munster sees it:
- A new Apple TV set-top box within the next few months, with a TV input and DVR built in. “With the popularity of ad-based internet TV (Hulu.com) and subscription models (Netflix’s Watch Instantly), we believe a-la-carte (iTunes) video purchases have lost share against other video models in recent months. As such, we believe Apple is exploring a subscription-based offering for its TV content in iTunes.”
- An iTunes TV Pass within the next year. “Apple could leverage its deep library of content with many network and cable channel content owners to provide unlimited access to a sub-library of its TV shows for a standard monthly fee ($30 to $40 per month). Such a product would effectively replace a consumer’s monthly cable bill (~$85/month) and offer access to current and older episodes of select shows on select channels.”
- An Apple television set within the next two years that could wirelessly sync with iPods, iPhones and Macs. “Such a device would command a premium among a competitive field of budget TVs; we believe Apple could differentiate itself with software that makes home entertainment simple and solves a pain point for consumers (complicated TV and component systems).”
As evidence for Apple’s interest for pushing deeper into the living room, Munster cites: COO Tim Cook’s statement last month that the company will continue to invest in Apple TV because “we fundamentally believe there is something there for us in the future”; patents covering digital video recording; and a five-year, $500 million partnership with LG to produce LCD screens.

I wouldn’t buy an Apple Television even if it was sold for 99$, I’d rather get an LCD TV or a Plasma TV then hook it up to my Home Theatre PC. Does everything I want it to do, and it’s a computer to boot. None of that Apple Mini crap or crippled computers that can barely do anything. My HTPC can play HD Content, Multitask, has terabytes of storage, and play games. What more can I ask? =p
The Xbox 360 breaks five times as often as its closest failure-prone competitor, the PlayStation 3, a print edition-only Game Informer survey found.
The poorly manufactured, red ring of death-prone console has a 54.2 percent failure rate, compared to 10.6 percent for the PS3 and the Wii’s 6.8 percent.
The magazine surveyed nearly 5,000 readers to get the data. And while the 360’s rate is alarmingly higher than the others, it’s still bafflingly low because it blows the mind to imagine that 45.8 percent of the consoles have not broken. Also, Microsoft’s numbers are inflated because 360s are used the most of the three consoles. Results said 40.3 percent of 360 owners use the console three to five hours a day, compared to 37 percent of PS3 owners. Meanwhile, the plurality of Wii owners (41.4 percent) play their consoles less than an hour a day.
Microsoft also seized the gold medal for unhelpful customer service, taking nearly a month to repair or replace a console, while Nintendo and Sony stuck closer to a week. Only 37.7 percent of Microsoft customers found the company’s customer service was “very helpful,” compared to 51.1 percent fo Sony and 56.1 percent for Nintendo.
The most shocking number from the survey — and frightening from a consumer perspective — is only 3.8 percent of Xbox 360 owners said they’d never buy another Xbox because of hardware failure.

The PS3 Slim might be getting all the attention today, but the new PSP Minis bite-sized games and PSP Digital Comics service are actually potentially game-changers as well — so of course they get their own promo videos. Minis are 100MB or smaller games that will launch on the PlayStation Store the same day the PSP Go arrives, and while the launch lineup doesn’t have any standout must-haves, we think they’ll be quite popular. The real sleeper might be the Digital Comics service, though, which will launch with Marvel titles and eventually add more publishers — although pricing and other details haven’t been announced, we’ve got a feeling quite a few PSP owners will be into the idea of getting comics on the go. Sony’s longed for PS3 Slim has been greeted rapturously, with the console topping pre-order charts at retailers in the Japan and US alike. Extensive details on the design of the device have become available, and are visible below.
Additionally, new firmware has been hinted at for release (to all PS3s) before the year is out, finally offering full PS2 compatibility, though Sony now denies this (just as they denied the existence of the Slim, strangely enough).
