Slimline PS3 Sold Underground in R.P.

Video footage of what appears to be a new slimline PS3 has appeared on YouTube.

The machine has a white PS logo, a new eject button, two USB ports and features a curvier PS3 typeface on the side.

The footage was chucked on the internet by the chaps at UltimatePlayStation.com. The person who shot it says the slimline PS3 was on sale at an underground market in the Philippines, priced at around GBP 250.

Sony has yet to comment, and probably won’t.

Modern Warfare 2 FREE Night-Vision Goggles!

Infinity Ward has made all other Collector’s Edition

gifts look like shit this morning with the unveiling of the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition’s pack-in night vision goggles. Not a Master Chief helmet that’s too small to fit on your head, nor a giant plastic Lancer. Night vision goggles.

The “fully functioning” headgear is joined in the Prestige Edition box by an art book, steel case, sculpted head model for storing your Sam Fisher toy and a code to download the original Call of Duty on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN.

We’re going to go mental in the garden with these. It’s out in November. Watch the video below.

Bioware Calls Activision Silly

Greg Zeschuk, co-founder of BioWare, has branded Activision’s comments over ceasing support for PS3 “silly”, acknowledging the importance of the PlayStation name.

It’s Sony’s turn now. I hope they get it right now. It does feel a lot better having a peripheral being held rather than just waving your hand making yourself look silly like with Project Natal. Even the experts say this. LOL.

Green Lantern Game Alongside with Movie

A videogame based on the upcoming film adaptation of the classic comic Green Lantern is in development at Double Helix, according to Venture Beat.

The film, to be directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, GoldenEye), is scheduled for a June 17, 2011 release.

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the Double Helix game are in the works. No other details on the game were mentioned.

Double Helix is comprised of former studios Shiny Entertainment and The Collective. The studio released its debut title, Silent Hill: Homecoming, in 2008. Helix will release G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and Front Mission Evolved later this year.
