Korean Food in BF Homes, Parañaque

So I went out and met up with a buddy of mine. Chef Mon Pellicer. We met up and we were gonna talk about my school and stuff. So I ended up going with him to this hole in the wall place in BF Homes, where we both live. I was gonna ask my friend to ask her cousin if we could train at San Mig, since they’re the majority shareholder there. I was introduced to this korean place by a canuck buddy of mine Oliver. We’ve eaten there twice already. And I missed eating the stuff.

So we ordered Tok Buk Gi (or whatever), Jae Hyuen whatever and Kimchi Fried Rice. Sorry, I can barely remember the spelling, pronouncing it is a whole ‘nuther problem. LOL.

We love spicy food, and korean food is one of the tastiest spicy food I’ve ever had. This place, with no english sign and korean owned has the best korean food I’ve ever had. (which really doesn’t amount to much. lol)

Here’s the pictures:

My First Tomato “Harvest”

Well my very first eggplant flower fell off. which is fine and to be expected from a 12″ x 12″ plant. It was quite pretty when it was in full bloom. too bad the humidity got to it before any sort of pollination could occur.

here’s a pic of my first tomato sliced crosswise. i guess it ripened suddenly coz of a change in it’s environment. it got moved to the ground.

as you can see from the cross section of the fruit, it was a bit on the mealy side.

guess the plant got confused and ripened it up a lot faster than it should have. there were absolutely no seeds and not a lot of gel. it just looks a lot like an unripe tomato picked from the vine and then ripened by ethylene gas. tasted like a grocery tomato, absolutely no flavor. tasted a bit on the green side. but then i picked it a bit earlier than i should have. perfectly fine since it was just a fruit from a pubescent plant.

My First Ripe Tomato!

here’s my very first tomato ripening.

already picked it since i didn’t want birds eating it before i do. it’s the tiniest tomato ever but it’s mine. i grew it from seed. it’s from a tomato slice of a burger king whopper burger. pretty nice experiment. getting different types of plants from that tomato slice. also got a determinate growing from it. no flowers or pods yet on that one. will probably stick that in the ground too since it’s a determinate.

this is what you get from trying to save seed from a hybrid. lol.

was a nice experiment, took close to 3 months to get anything. which is fine. maybe it’s small coz the plant was still too young and it was the very first one. gonna taste it later. i heard that the very first tomatoes don’t taste real well, the best ones come from the second batch onwards.

My Baguio Strawberry Plant and The Help’s Vining Veg

here’s the help’s monster vining veg (my driver told me it was ampalaya, she just stuck it in the ground and went nuts). and some papaya trees. we got quite a few papaya trees already and she keeps sticking more in the ground.

My friend told me that it wasn’t ampalaya. Can anyone tell me what it is?

here’s my strawberry plant from baguio, my classmate brought one home for me a month ago. it’s lost it’s runners but it’s got new growth. properly adjusted to the heat of parañaque, hopefully.
